Book review

The Sting of Fate by Nannette Holliday is a love story that spans three continents. The book is written in an unusual way using the genre of email as the backbone of the story, which takes a bit of getting used to at first. This is the story of an Australian woman who meets and falls in love with a French artist who is in the process of getting divorced after 40 years of marriage. Interspersed with the love story are interesting mini travelogues of France and Canada, making the reader keen to visit the places mentioned. The writer keeps the reader guessing what the outcome of the love affair will be right up to the last page. I look forward to the planned sequel "Fates Revenge", continuing the saga.

Review of The Sting of Fate

This story reeled me in from the start; possibly because I have worked in some of the places mentioned in the book but also I could easily picture myself as the protagonist in the story. Apart from the compelling love story (I read practically the entire story through the night to see how this affair would turn out and finished it the next day!) I was very impressed with the geographical journey through the book. The descriptions and details in regard to the locations would make an excellent travel guide if Nannette Holliday could possible support this knowledge and experience of the regions photographically.

The Sting of Fate - book review

This review is for: The Sting of Fate: Spanning Three Continents, the Paths of Love, Life and Restored Dignity Will Take You on a Spellbinding Magical Ride... (Hardcover)
I read this book with increasing pleasure as the dramatic love affair between the Australian woman and a French artist unfolded. The use of emails and skype was unusual but very telling if sometimes overlong. The style was fluid and easy to read . The insertion of numerous pen pictures of the different parts of France the heroine visited during the tangled love affair were very interesting, full of detail and imagination.I became more and more intrigued by the nature of the relationship as the story progressed and was amazed that in the last chapter, details of which I leave the readers to discover themselves, events unfolded in a most dramatic way. Overall an excellent first book from this talented writer.I look forward to the sequel.
